I have to admit I had read this author before. As a writer, many years ago, I picked up a copy of another book written by John Vorhaus entitled, The Comic Toolbox. It is one of the best books on the subject of humor writing out there. I had high expectations from a book written by Mr. Vorhaus and I was not disappointed.

As I mentioned before, there was no rehashing of basic poker stuff and got right to the tips and tricks that are specific for Online play. The book talks about tech issues that all Internet players face, distractions that Internet players face, money issues that Internet players face and a variety of Internet specific topics. It has some fresh stuff that isnt presented anywhere else.

Lets face it online poker is different game, especially the mental aspect. There isnt a book on the market that covers the things that will make you a mentally tough online hold em player. Things like:
Avoiding boredom
Avoiding distractions
One More Hand Syndrome
Go Big or Go Home
Having Book

John Vorhaus makes the point that knowledge is power. He devotes many pages on how to take accurate notes on your opponents. He even details his own system and shows the reader an example of just how to create your notebook so you can have the edge on your opponents. This is a truly innovative idea and in my opinion, worth the price of the book itself.
